The CO2 ablative laser treatment in perimenopausal patients with vulvovaginal atrophy

Objectives: The aim of the study was to evaluate effectiveness CO 2 fractional laser therapy on perimenopausal urogenital symptoms. Material and methods: This prospective, open-label included 205 patients who received three treatments. Clinical assessment checked at baseline as well six weeks 12 months post-treatment. following scores were measured Vaginal Health Index Score (VHIS), International Consultation Incontinence Questionnaire-Urinary Short Form (ICIQ-UI SF) severity selected Results: Significant improvements in dryness, dyspareunia, burning, vaginal laxity, urinary incontinence, results VHIS ICIQ-UI SF post-treatment (p < 0.05 for all scores), which maintained through follow-up visit months. No complications observed either during or after therapy. Conclusions: ablative treatment can be effective reducing vulvovaginal atrophy symptoms such painful sexual intercourse, decreases stress incontinence urge Positive treatment.
